some people should not be allowed in public.

ryan and i just returned from our weekly grocery trip to supertarget.

(every week we discuss how horribly crowded it is, yet we continue to shop only on sundays)

. . .

there was a mother and a teenage daughter behind us in the checkout line.

while we were still checking out, the mother rudely handed a pineapple to the cashier.

"here! take this! i don't want it anymore!"

um. really? who the hell carries a whole pineapple around the store and then decides to get rid of it at checkout?

isn't this something you do with shoes...or clothes..or one of the countless impulse buys so characteristic of target? but a pineapple?

moving on...

just when we are about to leave...the mother again yells at the cashier, "clean up in aisle 12!! "

apparently her brilliant daughter dumped an entire starbucks frappuccino all over herself and the floor. after calling for immediate help, the cashier offered to throw away the empty, ooey-gooey cup.

how does the mother respond?

"no! it was totally full before! i'm going to take it back and have them give her a new one!"

. . .

uhhh.... i'd like to be there for that conversation.

"excuse me lowly target employee, my idiot daughter somehow managed to spill a closed container of delicious blended coffee all over herself. i DEMAND you make her a new one forthwith!"

yea. good luck with that.

This is why avoid "the public." Too much of that, and you realize the human race must just be some huge cosmic mistake... best to just wander off into the woods and build a yurt.
