the big strike started today. i am not part of it.
i am union represented (by force); however, i am showing my contempt for the university union by choosing to work. the university union is bastardizing the reputation of all unions...effectively debasing all that are actually needed and worthwhile.
i have a hard time trying to justify what the union here is bitching about. it's pointless. it's greedy. don't believe the propaganda. this strike is not for the underpaid and undervalued workers. this strike is for the workers that choose to stay in the same entry level position for 20 years (and have now reached the top of their pay range). to them i say, get off your lazy ass and apply for a promotion. better yourself. work harder. stop expecting more and more money to be thrown your way for doing absolutely nothing. there are other people who need it more and deserve it more.
fin. i will now jump off my soap box and return to doing other people's work.
